The Word of God

2 Timothy 2:9
But the word of God cannot be chained.

What are you fearful of?  What enslaves you?  What chokes out your freedom and vitality.  In a sense, this has held you captive to destructive behavior patterns.

You long for freedom.  Where do you turn?

The word of God is waiting, for it cannot be chained, restrained, held back, stifled, or cast aside.  It bears fruit and accomplished the purpose for why it was sent (Isaiah 55:11).  It is a light in the dark and will illuminate your healing and way (Psalm 119:105).  We must return to the word of the Lord to find freedom.

During the Christmas season, we are reminded that the word is not just the life-giving words but the Son sent to dwell among us.

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
15 (John bore witness about him, and cried out, "This was he of whom I said, 'He who comes after me ranks before me, because he was before me.'")
16 For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.
17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
18 No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known.
John 1:14-18

The Word of God cannot be chained and He came as a little baby.  Growing free from sin, He allowed the chains that took Him to the cross.

17 For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again.
18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father."
John 10:17-18

He had complete authority over His destiny and willingly put it aside to take our burdens upon Himself.

The joy of Christmas is the firm hope that nothing can hold back the Word of God, it's power through scripture to enlighten and the God who came to redeem His people.
